About Us

Last year our theater celebrated its 20th anniversary!

Color Ice is a Moscow-based on-ice production company that was first established in 2001. During their first year, Color Iceembarked on their first international tour in South Korea, with the production “Magic of the Dance”. It was a huge success and the show was sold out every night for three months.

The Creation of new shows continued in Moscow and in February 2003, Color Ice began a lengthy tour of China. The company worked a few projects simultaneously in China. The first was a beautiful and highly technical show called “Looking For Love”, which was created in collaboration with a Chinese creative team. Color Ice also staged their own two shows – divertissement “The Dance Through Centuries” and a winter fairy-tale “Twelve Months”.

Upon their return to Russia, Color Ice started working on a large-scale project specifically to be performed in Moscow. This new show, “The Magic Rainbow”, had a massive cast of 50 skaters, over 150 beautiful costumes and many special and unique technical elements. In addition to all of this, a contemporary dance company took part in the show. This show was featured in Moscow from December 2005 till January 2006.

In 2006, Color Ice teamed up with Ice Symphony and became one of its projects. Working together, the ballet dancers and skaters of Color Ice and Ice Symphony have repeatedly been involved in projects such as the TV show “Stars On Ice”, two gala performances in “Stars On Ice”, an ice show in Moscow’s Red Square, the 60th Anniversary show for Tatyana Tarasova and the world tour of IlyaAverbuh’s show “Stars On Ice”.

In season 2007-2008, two more shows were created:
The children’s tale “Thumbelina On Ice” and a romantic show on ice, “A Town”, based on George Bernard Shaw’s Play “Pygmalion”.

In Season 2008-2009, the company took a cast of about 60 skaters through multiple different cities throughout Russia, racking up more than 50 performances. A new Christmas fairy-tale “When the Clock Struck Twelve”, directed by IlyaAverbuh, has been seen in many cities of Russia, such as Krasnodar, Samara, Saratov, Chelyabinsk, Nizhniy, Novgorod and Moscow.

In the winter of 2009-2010, IlyaAverbukh directed the production, A New Years Fairy Tale (New Years Adventures in fabulous ICEland). The success of this amazing show was due to a combination of top-level figure skating, circus acrobatics, a fascinating story, bright costumes and extravagant stage-craft. This show toured around Russia to the cities of Ekaterinburg, Perm, Nizhny Tagil, Saratov, Samara, Orenburg, Ufa and Chelyabinsk.

In 2010, Color-Ice and Ice Symphony went their separate ways, and Color-Ice was once again an independent company. Following this, the next major project was the New Year’s performance on ice “Twelve Months”, based on the fairy tale of the same name by S.Ya. Marshak. This performance is still one of the most popular in our repertoire. From 2010 to 2020, it was applauded by the audience of Russian cities – Moscow, Mytishchi, Stupino, Klin, Dmitrov, Kazan, Samara, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Balakovo, Orsk, Orenburg, Pyatigorsk, Penza, Kirov, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Also, the performance was a success in the cities of Belarus and Slovakia.

Since 2011, the repertoire has been replenished and diversified with more than 30 performances and thematic miniatures. In 2012, Color-Ice performed the new year’s fairytale Morozko. The premier of this production opened with a real Santa Claus from the Great Ustyug! Also, the kids tale Thumbelina found was resurrected from it’s previous version and transformed into a full scale production of it’s own.

Today, the reportiore of Color Ice is constantly being updated with new concert pieces, shows and ice vignettes. Color Ice is excited to announce that they will be creating a new production show in Australia.
